Tacko “Taco” Fall stands between 7-foot-4 and 7-5, wears a size 22 shoe and has an 8-foot wingspan, he’s not your typical high school basketball player. And at the moment he’s considered to be the tallest basketball player in the U.S. and possibly the world.
Taco arrived in Florida from Dakar, Senegal, via Texas, Ohio and Tennessee with no real organized basketball experience. Former Orlando Magic center Pat Burke currently runs a training facility in the area, which will help guide the talents of Tacko “Taco” Fall.
Pat Burke sees the 7-5 high schooler as basketball project who at the moment is averaging 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for the Lions (11-15) this past winter. Even at 7-5 Taco only recorded one double-double and he stands more than a foot taller than the tallest prep player Senegalese junior Jean Marc Koumadje from Montverde Academy.
According to the Sentinel, Taco is conquering entire pizza filled with chicken and hamburgers to keep his up at 250-pounds. At his current height in high school Taco is already taller than the tallest NBA Oklahoma City center Hasheem Thabeet, the tallest current NBA player.
