Yesterday, 50 Cent and DJ Pauly D threw a dope SK Energy + REMIX Rock the Rooftop pre-Memorial Day Weekend bash in NYC.
The Source Magazine was on the red carpet for the event at Hudson Terrace. DJ Pauly D arrived first, and his hair was blown out to perfection. The Rhode Island native definitely has a busy summer ahead of him: “I’m DJ’ing all over the world, and I’m touring with the Backstreet Boys this summer.” And he knows how to keep a party going. His favorite summer songs to spin are “A lot of high energy songs, dance music is in, so a lot of Rihanna and a lot of Pitbull now, and I love to go to Hip-hop too, like Lil’ Wayne, Drake, 50 Cent.”
We also spoke with 50 Cent on the red carpet. When we asked him if he had any music updates for fans he said, “The new music, I got to launch it. I got to get it out. I still aint get you what I’ve been planning, I was kind of forced to start with “New Day” because the Alicia [Keys] version went out – couldn’t kind of blame her for putting it out because of how long it’d been there. The original version of that song was produced by Dr. Dre and then Swizz went and reproduced it…and then they put it out because it was a hit. You don’t want to sit on that how long were you sitting there and listening to it going great everyone put the record out it forced that to come out first. And then “My Life” me and Adam Levine that record was one of the songs I put out. Since then there’s so much executive changes within Interscope, within the record company, that I don’t want to be the guinea pig. I’m not going first while everybody’s new. Let me figure out whose who, whose doing what, then we’ll launch the project.”
After the red carpet, everyone proceeded upstairs, where specialty REMIX cocktails by DJ Pauly D were served, and SK energy drinks were displayed in large ice cubes, as well as available to guests. With the music blasting and delicious drinks being served, the energy level was through the roof. Music was provided by DJ Danny Rockz followed by a special set with DJ Pauly D. It was the perfect event to welcome summer.
