David Letterman, the long time host of late night television shows, is retiring next year. Less than two weeks after his retirement had been announced, his replacement was revealed: Stephen Colbert.
Stephen Colbert is the host of “The Colbert Report,” a parody news show that airs after “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central. He used to be a correspondent on “The Daily Show” but demonstrated so much talent that Jon Stewart gave him his own show.
“Colbert Report” is only a few years old, but the impact has been substantial. His best moments will show you exactly why he was chosen as the heir to David Letterman’s late night empire.
