61 points bobcats

LeBron James isn’t ready to give up his chances of winning another MVP trophy to Thunder forward Kevin Durant.

Last night, James put on one of the more impressive performances you will see all year and pouring in a personal best 61 points a new career high for James and a franchise record for the Heat, all while beating the Charlotte Bobcats 124-107.

James made 22 of 33 shots from the field, which included James hitting on his first eight straight 3-point attempts.

Before last night’s game, his career high has been 56 points, nine years ago on March 20,2005, when he played for the Cleveland Cavs against Toronto.  Along with his career high, he also broke the Heat scoring high which was set by Heat great Glen Rice who scored 56 points back on April 15, 1995 against the Orlando Magic. By halftime James put up 24 points, then added 25 more in the third quarter breaking the record by the fourth quarter.

This was a personal best for James on many levels with most points, most fields goals in a game, most point in any quarter by a Heat player, most points in a half and by any Heat player.

On a sad note for the Bobcats the team has allowed the two biggest single-game total in the 2013-14 NBA season. Carmelo Anthony had 62 points for the New York Knicks against the Bobcats on Jan 24.
