A Mississippi woman recently lost her job at the local Subway after it was discovered she posted a status on Facebook celebrating the fatal shooting of two police officers in Hattiesburg, MS.
The post that caused Sierra “C-Baby” McCurdy to be terminated read, “2 police officers was shot in Hattiesburg tonight! Got em!” The public outcry calling for McCurdy’s job at Subway was immediate. Outraged citizens took screengrabs of the post and sent them to Subway’s Twitter account.
McCurdy’s post was in reference to the killings of Hattiesburg officers Liquori Tate, 25, and 34-year-old Benjamin Deen, who were slain late Saturday night during a routine traffic stop. A few hours after the terrible event, three people were arrested in connection to the crime, which include a pair of brothers along with a woman. Two of the suspects will face capital murder charges.
