Robert Ri’Chard is showing off his man-ly side of things in the upcoming Chocolate City film co-starting Darrin Dewitt Henson, Tyson Beckford, DeRay Davis, Vivica A. Fox and Michael Jai White.
The film, reminiscent of a testosterone infused, modern version of the 90′s classic, “Players Club”, “Chocolate City” journeys through the main character played by Ri’chard, as he joins the male revue team to boost his ailing income as a college student. Of course we’ve heard this story before among cities around America with women falling into this sexy, yet forbidden lifestyle due to money woes, but few from the male perspective.
Chocolate City gives audiences a tantalizing taste into the world of male dancing, a far and distant world from its gender opposite female strip club atmospheres.
“The sub-culture is similar among people who dominate the night; strippers, male or female have differences, altercations, disagreements and money issues. Jealousies arise when money issues surface. Women go to clubs to enjoy their fantasy and simply go home to their boyfriends or husbands. They’re just having fun. However, men may go to strip clubs and actually try to take home the girls so the environment is completely different. ” shares Henson, who plays Magnus in the film.
For those who may be too shy to see a racy film like this, Ri’chard adds, “The theaters are dark and comfortable so no one will see you there!”
Well, if you’re looking for a Girls’ Night activity with your squad, head to the theaters for a taste of chocolate delicacy and scrumptious eye candy. It never hurts to look right?
Chocolate City will be exclusively released to AMC Theaters on Friday, May 22.
