Danielle Brooks will be giving Broadway a taste of her talents.

Danielle Brooks, better known as the spunky inmate “Tastyee” from Orange is the New Black will be making her Broadway debut. She will be playing Sofia in the upcoming revival of The Color Purple that is headlined by Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo. 

The lead producers are Scott Sanders, Roy Furman, Oprah Winfrey, David Babani and Tom Siracusa. The musical will begin previews on November 9th and the opening night is December 10th.
