The U.S. Premiere of “Amy” was presented by Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group Lucian Grainge, CBE along with filmmakers Asif Kapadia, James Gay-Rees and A24 Films. It was held at the Arclight in Los Angeles.

Executives in attendance included David Joseph (Executive Producer and Chairman and CEO UMUK), Darcus Beese OBE (President Island Records UK), Monte Lipman (Chairman and CEO Republic Records), and Nick Shymansky (Sr. A&R Manager UMUK).

Other notables included Aimee Osbourne, Alesso, Chaley Rose, Charles Michael Davis, Diane Warren, Don Was (President, Blue Note Records), Haim, Jesse Nolan, Justin Kirk, Keisha Whitaker, Mayer Hawthorne, Nick Jandl, Nick Jonas, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Rick Rubin, Robyn Troup (Robyn The Bank), Rumer Willis, Scooter Braun, The Weeknd and Toby Kebbell.

Lucian Grainge said on the red carpet that the film was, “To honor her, to really get across her brilliance as a songwriter and her artistry. You’ll see in this film there was so much of her that so many people didn’t see, they saw one side of her and appreciated one side of her before she was really famous and then they saw another side of her when she was very very famous, and her humor, her ability to impersonate, she was just very special as a human being. Generally special human beings make special music and write special songs. It takes time to actually look back over something to acknowledge that it was a classic, that it was really quite unique and with the passage of time I think that just solidifies it even more.”
