The shooter in the nine deaths at the Emanuel AME Baptist Church also faces three other counts of attempted murder
21 year old Dylann Roof, the man responsible for nine shooting deaths in a Charleston, South Carolina church, was indicted on Tuesday on nine counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder for the survivors.
According to federal and state laws, Roof may only face federal hate crime charges because South Carolina has no hate crime laws on the books. It is still being investigated as to whether Roof will face federal hate crimes charges.
Three of the twelve people that were shot by Roof at Bible study at Emanuel AME Baptist Church on June 17 lived through the tragedy, therefore the Charleston City solicitor sought out attempted murder charges.
