20 people are rounded up in East Flatbush, Brooklyn facing a 75-count federal indictment targeting the Crips street gang
Authorities have taken 20 people into custody after a morning raid yesterday in Brooklyn of the OGC or “Outlaw Gangsta Crips”, who have allegedly terrorized their Brooklyn neighborhood to the point that they drew the attention of the federal government.
Members of the Outlaw Gangsta Crips were named in a 75-count federal indictment, which includes charges of racketeering, drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit murder, according to U.S. Attorneys. The OGC have also allegedly been connected to crimes in other states like Connecticut and West Virginia.
The crimes that they are facing reportedly occurred between October 2013 and July of last year, including an alleged beating and stabbing of a man in Brooklyn for listening to Bobby Shmurda, who is allegedly affiliated with a rival gang.
During yesterday’s raid, several weapons and drugs were found in Brooklyn while some of the arrests were made out of state.
This is the second federal indictment in Brooklyn this week of a crew or gang, with Brownsville’s Van Dyke Money Gang getting arrested on fraud charges using altered money orders, costing banks more that $1 million.
