Former N.W.A. member Ice Cube recently sat down with Emerson College radio 88.9 FM and NE Hip-Hop in Boston, Massachusetts to discuss a few things ranging from his rap career to how he became an actor and his upcoming film “Ride Along”.

When asked “Is acting something you always wanted to get to when you started making music and entertaining?” Cube replied, “I never even thought about it, I thought you had to go to school and be a trained actor.”

In the interview Ice Cube continues to talk about working with director John Singleton during the making of the 1991 classic film Boys N The Hood, in which Ice Cube played the role of Doughboy. He then goes on to tell about how he did not believe that Singleton could produce or direct a movie and how the director sought out Ice Cube for more than two years before the legendary rapper signed up for the flick.

You can check out the full interview below with movie producer Will Packer as they discuss their upcoming film “Ride Along” featuring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.
