Controversial director, Spike Lee is in hot water over an erroneous Tweet he published at the expense of an elderly Florida couple.
In the aftermath of the George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin dead in February of 2012, Lee tweeted what he thought was Zimmerman’s address in a fit of anger, but turned out to be the Sanford, FL residence of Elaine and David McClain.
Lee issued an apology to the couple in March 2012, but the couple seems to want more than that. The McClains are filing a lawsuit against Lee for approximately $1.2 million, according to The Smoking Gun.
