Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson has one more achievement to add to her legacy. Yesterday, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and brought her son, fiance David Otunga and her sister Juila to celebrate the accomplishment.
Since being eliminated from American Idol, she starred in the movie Dreamgirls, which won her first Academy Award, and recorded her first album, which also won her first Grammy Award. Tragedy soon hit when her mother, nephew, and her brother were murdered.
She made her acceptance speech about this achievement while also talking about reality tv personalities getting stars on the walk of fame:
I hope winning an Oscar cancels that out. I’m a firm believer that if you keep at it, it has no choice but to give in. When I was eliminated from a reality show I said, ‘You know what? That’s okay because I’m walking away with a prize and that’s my talent.’ My gift and whatever it is I want, as long as I keep at it and work for it it will have no choice but to give in and here I am.
This multi-talented woman is currently busy with prepping for her latest movie, Black Nativity which also star fellow Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker and fellow actress Angela Bassett will be released in theaters on November 27, 2013 and recording her third album.
