A fossil of Hip Hop culture turns 30 years old

November has been a historic month for the culture of Hip Hop. Both the Wu Tang Clan and ATCQ celebrated the 20th Anniversary of two classic albums(Enter The 36th Chamber and Midnight Marauders), Jay-Z and G-Unit busted bottles for the decade anniversary of their 10 year old releases, and Hip Hop itself celebrated its arguable 39 years of existence.

Now, its come to the attention of us good people over here at TheSource.com that the Jean-Michel Basquiat produced “Beat Bop” single with K-Rob and Rammellzee has turned 30. The song is a classic experiment of three artists that show the unique bond between Hip Hop’s music and art. The song appeared on the graffiti/Hip Hop documentary Style Wars with its cover art designed by Jean Michel Basquiat himself.

With the song and wax of this record being so rare, regardless of the recent Hov release, this is the REAL “Holy Grail” of Hip Hop music. Check out the song below.
