Jae Tips loves sneakers. Anyone who knows of the Bronx upstart — perhaps even those who’ve known him before his now-blossoming rap career — knows Tips is the unequivocal epitome of a “sneakerhead” (and with a mixtape entitled Hypebeast one would hope so). So, it’s only right an emcee as deeply entrenched and as well respected in the sneaker culture as Tips, avow his love for kicks. And that’s exactly what he does in his video for “Shoe Love”.

Tips spits over a sample of Anita Baker‘s “Sweet Love”, produced by Dizzy Banko, that will be famliar to fans of Drake and MF DOOM alike. The Bronx rhymesayer gives us a glimpse into what a day in his Air Jordan 2 “Don Cs” is like, which consists of making runs to resell sneakers throughout the city on CitiBikes, working at a retail sneaker store and hitting everyone’s favorite East Village ice cream shop, “Mikey Likes It Ice Cream”. He also flashes back to the days, and the sneakers that sparked his unwavering love for footwear.
