Brandon Marshall raises the question of race in the deciding factor of the on-going situation

Jets Wide Reciever Brandon Marshall doesn’t bite his tongue. Ever. The Jets wideout spoke his mind on Tuesday and truthfully believes that the end result in the Tom Brady/Deflategate controversy is just another case of race playing it’s part. Last night on Showtime’s “Inside The NFL”,  Brandon Marshall theorized how exactly race played favor in the result of the case and mentioned how the league favors white players over colored.

Brandon Marshall stated:

“White players, specifically at the quarterback position, are treated differently.”

When asked if African-American players are treated differently, he replied, “At times, yes.” Now, he isn’t just giving his opinion out to the public, he states he’s had plenty of fruitful conversations on the subject with African Americans and Caucasians within the league and the answers are all the same.

He states:

“I am a player right now. This is not just from our locker room; this is from the locker rooms across the States. This is how guys are feeling. This is not just my opinion. These are conversations I’m having with guys.”

It goes without saying, Brandon Marshall makes a very good point. With the countless situations within the league regarding fairness, Brandon Marshall not only giving his personal insights but ones of other players regardless of color goes to show that this is an issue within the league. Moving forward, hopefully the league takes note and realizes that if the rules and regulations are not equal and this type of uneveness continues to occur, this could open up a can of worms the NFL isn’t ready to contain. Take note Commissioner Goodell .
