New Jersey Based DJ Assembles NYC Heavy Hitters

There’s been a lot of talk about the “New York Sound” in Hip-Hop as of late, with Trinidad James being the latest to add fuel to the fiery debate, but the relevance of the East Coast sound is beyond reproach on the latest release from New Jersey’s own DJ Alamo.

For his new joint, produced by J. Brown, Alamo grabs Queens-bred rap stalwarts Capone and Ali Vegas as well as New York new blood Young Pretty for a record that is sure to make connoisseurs of that classic NYC rap very happy. The three emcees weave gritty street tales and witty slick talk around a boom-bap bassline and a chorus made of samples from Queensbridge luminary Nas. Give “Queens” a listen and grab DJ Alamo’s latest mixtape with DJ New Era, Respect The DJ 7, here.
