Here’s the kicker, his jersey number is #15 (sounds familiar)

After his waivers being cleared, all the speculation of him retuning back to his old stomping grounds in good ol’ Canada is certainly true. Anthony Bennett, the former #1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft has signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Raptors for the minimum contract. According to sources, the big man had potential suitors in Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz, but due to his extensive $5.8 million contract this season, they all decided against paying him that amount this season.

Now back home in Canada and a newly acquired Toronto Raptor, Bennett will be entering a team that has a very crowded backcourt. Battling for minutes with Patrick Patterson, Luis Scola, newly acquired DeMarre Carroll and James Johnson, it will be a very big test for Anthony Bennet but can also be a positive. Since day 1, Anthony Bennett has been looked as a centerpiece in devastating franchises that need a turn around and judging by his road to date, Anthony Bennett is clearly not that player (at least right now).  With Anthony playing behind established bigs and his minutes down to a minimum, he will finally be able to learn the game and really change the trajectory of his career.
