The injury bug will not leave Derrick alone.

The joy and excitement of another media day has stumble upon the NBA fans in Chicago. The media was able to take time to interview and hold press conference with players from the Bulls roster. But unfortunately, all the excitement of another chance of begin the season as a strong, elite playoff contenders with a healthy superstar in Derrick Rose has quickly died down. Later on that day, Derrick Rose suffered a left orbital fracture during today’s practice. Rose sustained the injury by being elbowed in the face.

New head coach and former Bulls player Fred Hoiberg went to the media and described it as a “a good, hard elbow” in which he continued on to say Rose “looked great when he was out there”. As everybody knows, the 2010-2011 regular season MVP has been giving Bulls fan something to be nervous about these past recent years. Since signing his max contract consisting of 5 years, $95 million dollars, Rose has only seen the hardwood court 100 times in three seasons with the Bulls. He missed 27 games due to a sprained toe in 2011-2012, missed the entire 2012-2013 season with a torn ACL injury and missed 71 games throughout the 2013-2014 season after tearing the meniscus cartilage in his knee. Rose is expected to go under surgery as soon as tomorrow. Fans nationwide are praying that Rose will be able to make the start of the regular season. Expect Chi-town’s own to be sporting a mask once the ball is tipped off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct.27.
