“Fast And Furious” Actor Paul Walker died Saturday afternoon in California, TMZ confirms. The actor was 40.

According to a statement released by his rep via his Facebook page, Walker, who played Brian O’Connor in the film franchise, reportedly died in a car crash, that later burst into flames. The actor was en route to a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. The statement goes onto read that Walker was a passenger in a friend’s car and both lost their lives. The driver of the vehicle hasn’t been identified.

Walker, who was a California native, first burst onto the Hollywood scene during the late 90s in movies such as ‘Varsity Blues’ and ‘Pleasantville’, but truly made a name for himself working alongside Vin Diesel in 2001′s ‘The Fast And The Furious’

Walker, who was set to reprise his role in ‘Fast And Furious 7′, which was slated for a 2014 release, leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter, Meadow.
