French officials have allegedly identified the mastermind behind the attacks in Paris that killed 129 people. There have been 168 raids around France which has produced about 25 suspects from what investigators have labeled as a “sleeper cell” of jihadists.
One particular suspect, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian national that is said to be linked to the train attack as well as the church shooting, was being sought after in the early morning hours in Paris, but no raids have yet to uncover the 31 year old Abaaoud.
With France in a state of emergency, French police raids on locations of suspected jihadists have also yielded several weapons from those arrested, including several AK-47s and at least one rocket launcher.
Meanwhile, in the town of Raqqa, Syria, where the alleged sleeper cell is said to have originated, French airstrikes hit the suspected jihadist training ground with 20 bombs being dropped from 10 fighter jets in the biggest air strike since France extended its bombing campaign against the extremist group to Syria in September.
