#GlennGate rages on.
[SPOILERS AHEAD!]
Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead did very little to ease the tension and ambiguity surrounding Glenn’s (Steven Yeun) fate, following the events of the third episode of this season. Though the episode was every bit action-packed, especially considering it was a Daryl-centered episode, we still have no confirmation on whether or not Glenn survived what seemed to be a certain demise. Show producers and cast members have continued to toy with our heartstrings for the past two weeks, only dispelling rumors, and solidifying the ongoing “no one’s safe” motif. But Norman Reedus who plays Daryl, did take his time out to dispel a particularly rumor that stemmed from the final minutes of last night’s episode.
The Hollywood Reporter asked Norman Reedus about the walkie talkie message at the end of the episode and the conversation went this way :
Whose voice yelled “Help!” on the walkie at the end of the episode? Was that Glenn — or Nicholas?
It’s not Glenn — but it’s somebody at Alexandria.
So — we’re yet again left with our own understandings of what occurred following Glenn’s fateful fall into the zombie horde. Apparently Reedus shares our sentiment:
You can make theories this way or that way but whatever you see is right. So whatever your take on that is, you saw what you saw and you’re reacting to what you saw. I had the same feeling that everyone else had when they saw it and I was in the episode — I was pissed! I was mad at AMC and mad at everybody — but that’s the point.
With two more episodes left in the first part of season 6, it’s safe to assume we’ll get our answer during the season’s mid-season finale. Let’s hope our hearts can take it.
