According to CIA Director John Brennan, an attack from ISIS is eminent and is “in the pipeline”, even though the threat of an attack is greater on Europea nsoil than it is i nthe United States.

Speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies forum in Washington, D.C. yesterday, Brennan spoke of the weekend tragedies, saying, “This is not something that was done in a matter of days. This was carefully planned over the course I think of several months, in terms of making (sure) they had the operatives, the weapons and the explosives with the suicide belts.”

He concluded by saying,

“I would anticipate this is not the only operation that ISIL has in the pipeline.”

This statement came the day after Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said that while ISIS has plans to carry out similar attacks in America, it is highly unlikely. Rhodes also said that ISIS has found more utility in trying to recruit or motivate sympathizers in America online from abroad.
