Our Unsigned Hype alum Bishop Nehru is a prime example of the success an artist can achieve without major label assistance. Since collaborating with DOOM on Nehruvian Doom, he’s been on a whirlwind of a tour and put out several freestyles to keep his fan base happy. And then in May he released a new EP, Nehruvia: The Nehruvian EP. And now we have a new visual that features him and fellow Suburban Shogun Que Hampton.
Of course in Bishop Nehru fashion, he directs the video himself. The title of the track plays off the phrase “man’s sin” and Charles Manson (the sample in the middle of the track is of Manson speaking). The production is a boom bap take on a medieval melody fit for a knight. Each emcee speaks on personal and collective struggles. All of that is framed within the inescapable vices man is conflict with.
