On Tuesday night, the latest A$AP Mob member to vie for the spotlight, A$AP Nast, debuted his Method Man assisted single, “Trillmatic”. It was a return to the gritty boom bap sound New York emcees and producers pioneered in the 90′s; an era that has received a considerable amount of attention as of late, partially thanks to Pro Era’s revival efforts and their growing popularity. Seeing their fellow New York rappers, rely on their influences from their hometown, instead of the South—proving the validity of Trinidad James’ ill timed words—they would be excitedly embrace their movement. However, the opposite seems to be the case.
Starting that night, Pro Era’s A La Sole took some shots at their Harlem brethren on twitter; calling them out for biting their “swank”.
Love to see more rappers bite the pro era swank. Good shit Nast. Smh lol whats new with these “New York” negus?

It didn’t take long for A$AP Nast to respond, he fired back that he was doing the 90′s more justice than other younger rappers.

Sole didn’t back off one bit, and kept fanning the flames, tweeting:
“@ASVPNVST: @rokamouth1 style jacking who my nigguh. 1990 born up you got us fucked up my g need to talk whatchu know” lol

There hasn’t been much more news about the growing rift between the two collectives, and both of the prominent leaders haven’t spoke out, so we don’t know what is going to happen with all of this. We hope they can work through their problems, and it doesn’t come to blows.
