Yep, you read the headline right

Putting a damper on Kobe Bryant’s final hometown game, the Philadelphia 76ers put an end to their deplorable record and catch their first win of the season versus the Los Angeles Lakers. Snapping a 28 game losing streak, the Philadelphia 76ers’ managed to spoil a homecoming event for the Philadelphia legend with Robert Covington scoring 23 points on just 16 shots and young big man Jerami Grant scored a crazy stat line of 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks.

The 76ers managed to hold Kobe Bryant to 4 points in the second half while shooting 46.8% from the floor. Jahlil Okafor, who scored 6 of 14 from the floor, had a very quite night but with the streaky shooting from the the Lakers and Kobe they were able to hold them off. Hopefully this win can spark a turn around in the season, but judging by the their track record on and off the court, this looks like an “once every blue moon” win.
