Ciara takes to Instagram to address why “Body Party” was ineligible for a nomination

With the 2014 Grammy nominations having recently been announced, fans are in an uproar about Ciara’s #1 single, “Body Party,” not being nominated in any category. In fact, fans are so upset that CiCi decided to address them all in an open letter via Instagram, stating just exactly why “Body Party” was not eligible to be nominated.

Here’s what CiCi had to say below:

“Body Party Going number 1 this year was a blessing within itself, and for that I am thankful! Unfortunately it couldn’t be eligible because of the -My Boo- sample in it. I discovered this before the songs allowed for nominations were set… However this year has been incredible considering the journey a few years prior, and it is JUST the beginning:) So, I’za Happy Happy Girl, and Thankful to have a Grammy already!!:) Let’s keep all this good stuff going! Love CC! Xx!”
