This past summer was a big deal for Roy Woods. After inking a deal with Drake‘s OVO Sound and Warner Bros, Roy Woods was introduced to the world with his first single “Drama” featuring Drizzy. The song was premiered via OVO Sound radio and to date has gathered over 47 million plays on Soundcloud. Soon after, Roy dropped his debut EP titled EXIS.
Following up with his JIM JOE-directed video for “Jealousy“, Roy Woods decides to finish the year off with a bang by dropping a dark, primal visual for his single “Get You Good.” The video sees Roy torn between his “exis”, the girl he’s trying to be with versus the girl he’s trying to save.
As the video starts, you catch Roy dropping the top in a dimmed down scene which soon turns to Roy moving through the darkness with his metaphorical “exis” surrounding him. As iconic as it can be, there’s still an undertone of vulnerability in the video as Woods sings about getting them good. The video is a highlight of what his fans can expect from him in 2016. Also, lookout for a cameo from Majid of Majid Jordan. Watch the video above.
