Odell Beckham Jr. will NOT be suspended for the Giants’ Sunday night game in Minnesota against the Vikings.
On Sunday, during an incredibly entertaining NFL match-up between the New York Giants and the Carolina Panthers, a side-show took center stage, as the Giants Pro Bowl wide receiever Odell Beckham Jr. and Panthers Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman engaged in a vicious, game-long battle that included wrestling moves, post-play helmet-to-helmet hits, and thrown punches.
Beckham Jr., thought to be the protagonist in most of the incidents involving both players–he received three unnecessary roughness penalties throughout–wasn’t ejected from the game, but post-game speculation that he would be punished by the league materialized Monday, when it was announced that he would be suspended for 1 regular season game. Today, the case was heard in court, and per ESPN’s Ron Jaworski, Beckham’s suspension was overturned.

It’s a stroke of good luck that couldn’t come at a better time for the Giants, who don’t control their own playoff destiny. It’s likely they need to beat both the Vikings and the Eagles–two teams also fighting for their playoff lives–to be eligible when the season wraps up in two weeks.
