A former employee of food chain giant Boston Market in Tamarac, Florida has shot two people, one fatally, before turning the gun on himself on New Year’s Day.
The violent chain of events began when 56 year old a live Muir arrived at the home of former co-worker Anne Nau, 21, who was shot and killed in her residence.
Within minutes, Muir arrived at the restaurant on the 5800 block of North University Drive and made his way into an employees’ office, where he shot assistant manager Jason Claire, 33, shortly after noon.
Muir returned to his car in the parking lot, where he fatally himself inside of his vehicle. He died on the scene.
“We are shocked and saddened by the tragic incident that occurred this morning at one of our restaurants in Tamarac,” Courtney Suthoff, a spokeswoman for Boston Market, said in an email Friday evening. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the affected families. We are cooperating with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.”
Claire, the 33 year old assistant manager, is still fighting for his life. He’s said to be listed in critical condition.
