After over a year of anticipation, the Baz Luhrmann directed, Hip Hop musical The Get Down has finally released a trailer via Netflix for the upcoming series debuting this year.

The movie will follow a group of young, poor teenagers from the South Bronx through a 1970s NYC, during the Mayor Koch era when the city was broke and President Jimmy Carter declared the South Bronx aka Fort Apache a war zone. Cast members include Justice Smith (playing “Ezekiel”), Shameik Moore (as “Shaolin Fantastic”), Skylan Brooks (as “Ra Ra”), Tremaine Brown, Jr. (as “Boo Boo”), Herizen Guardiola (“Mylene Cruz”), Yahya Abdul-Mateen (“Cadillac”), Mamoudou Athie (“Grandmaster Flash”), Jimmy Smits (“Francisco Cruz” aka “Papa Fuerte”) and Jaden Smith (Marcus “Dizzee” Kipling).
