D.Rose is ok with Butler’s success
It seems just about every other day the Bulls are the headline news story in the sports world. From Derrick Rose having an MRI, feuds to even Butler stating his distaste for Hoiberg’s coaching practices, the Bulls have been the talk of the town despite their current winning streak.
Once again, the spotlight on the team has returned and this time for comments Derrick Rose made. After their game vs. the Bucks earlier this week, Derrick Rose sat down with Bulls beat reporter Sam Smith and had some nice words for Jimmy Butler despite rumors circulating that the backcourt was going through problems.
According to Derrick Rose:
“The way Jimmy is playing, the patience he is playing with, you can tell the game is slowing down for him,” Rose said, via Bulls.com’s Sam Smith. “It’s fun to see, exciting; I’m happy for him. For a player like him to come into the league and for him to improve the way he is improving and for him being on my team it’s good. I don’t really have to do too much when I am out there because he’s taking great shots and he’s making the right plays.”
“Jimmy’s been playing unreal right now,” Rose continued. He’s ballin’. So keep going to him until he doesn’t want the ball anymore. Me and Jimmy, I think we are very dangerous out in the open court. Throw in Niko, a three-point shooter, Doug (McDermott), Tony (Snell). How are you going to stop us when you have three-point shooters around us?”
That’s some big words from Derrick Rose, especially considering the keys to the team was previously cemented in his hands. It great to see Rose support Butler and we hope it continues. We just hope that these words don’t dissolve when the team goes through a slump or doesn’t meet playoff expectations.
