The troubled Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom will not face any criminal charges related to the drug-fueled drug binge that almost cost the 36 year old championship winning small forward his life.

The Nye County District Attorney announced in a statement that even though Odom ingested the metabolized cocaine, he was not found with the narcotic in his possession, which kept him from being prosecuted.

“Although the evidence showed Mr. Odom had metabolized cocaine in his system, he was not found in the possession of cocaine and it is unlikely it could [be] established beyond a reasonable doubt he actually ingested, or was impaired by, the drug during the time he was within the jurisdiction of Nye County.”

The b-ball star was found unconscious in a brothel known as the “Love Ranch” outside of Carson City, NV. Odom suffered a stroke and brain damage in the incident, which occurred on October 13. Odom is still recovering in a private hopital, according to a family spokesperson.
