Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed 17 year old that was shot to death by George Zimmerman, endorsed Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton for this upcoming election’s Democratic presidential candidate in an op-ed published Monday on CNN.

Fulton wrote that she believed Clinton will keep her promise in being an advocate for gun control and “stand up to inaction from Republicans and indifference from the National Rifle Association.” She also praised Clinton’s ideas for reforms, such as addressing racial profiling and investing in body cameras for police.

Fulton also said that she thought Clinton would keep President Barack Obama’s executive actions on guns and then “go even further.”

“I agree with the President; we should only support leaders that fight for common-sense gun reforms. Clinton passes that test.”

Trayvon Martin was fatally shot near his father’s home outside of Orlando, Florida. Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman was ultimately acquitted in Martin’s murder.
