An Uber driver refuses a woman in Manhattan a ride earlier this year with a $13 bill.
New York attorney David Lee, a husband who tried to get an Uber to take his pregnant wife on a 3-mile ride to the hospital, was denied and charged after she went into labor last November. When the Uber driver arrived and saw the expectant mother was sick, he refused to let the couple in the car.
Lee told the driver he would lose about $1,000 if she got sick in his car, and if his wife got sick again that they’d pay for the cleaning costs. The Uber driver still refused to let them into the car while charging them $13 for his lost time. Shall we say lawsuit in this case?
