It’s a big February for TDE
We won’t know whether or not Kendrick Lamar will go home with that Grammy award for Album of the Year until February of next year, but in his mind, he’s already won.
“It’s a really raw album”, the TDE rep says of his platinum-selling debut, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, “There isn’t a lot of crossover on it, so, for it to be nominated for that is a win already…and to take it home would be an even crazier feeling.”
Power 106 L.A. correspondent Rikki Martinez also chimed in on J. Cole‘s comments on Justin Timberlake‘s “T.K.O. Remix”, on which J. Cole made witty comments about Kendrick’s infamous “Control” verse, and Kendrick reiterated that Cole is his brother, and they texted after Lamar heard the remix.
Kendrick also teased that he has “ideas” about 2014 when he was asked about his sophomore album, but stated that he’s mainly focused on ScHoolboy Q, who very recently announced his debut album, Oxymoron, would be out on February 25th.
