The studio that brought you Pirates Of The Caribbean and the almighty director that gave us Iron Man, Jon Favreau, have teamed up to make an upgraded version of Disney’s classic story Jungle Book that’s bound to give you chills.
It’s always a challenge when directors attempt to remake a classic. The pressure’s not just on topping the movie version, but doing justice to the book as well. But from the looks of this first trailer, this might be a worth while remake.
Jungle Book hits theaters next April and stars newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli along with the impeccable casting of Bill Murray as the voice of Baloo, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Christoper Walken as King Louie and Scarlett Johansson as Kaa.
The movie is about “finding the balance between the iconic, mythic power of the Kipling and all of the images I loved growing up with from the animated feature, it was how do you combine those things?” Favreau said during the D23 Expo. “And, most importantly, how do you use today’s technology to take it to a different place than the film that already exists? How do you build upon that legacy?”
