In a routine traffic stop on I-70 in Madison County, Ohio State Troopers managed to seize 123 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $615,000.
The troopers say that they stopped the vehicle with its 46 and 47 year old occupants because they were following another vehicle too closely. With the assistance of a drug sniffing dog, the troopers were able to uncover the “pot jackpot”.
Both the driver and passenger, who both hail from Carbondale, Colorado, were booked on charges of felony drug possession and trafficking. The authorities are still unclear as to where the duo were headed with the marijuana, but it’s pretty certain that legalization in Colorado has forced marijuana harvesters to try to take their businesses across state lines.
