45 Years actress Charlotte Rampling is the latest celebrity to weigh in on the Oscars race diversity controversy and some people may not like what the 69 year old white actress has to say.

Rampling, who has been nominated for Best Actress in this year’s awards, says that the decision of actors and actresses such as Jada Pinkett-Smith to boycott the ceremony is “anti-white racism”.

“Maybe this time, no black actor or actress deserved to make it to the final selection,” she said in an interview on French radio station Europe 1. “Why should we always categorize people? I think nowadays we are living in easily offended societies. There will always be someone who’s too beautiful, too black or not white enough.”

Rampling backpedaled on her statements on her interview on Sunday Morning, saying, “I regret that my comments could have been misinterpreted … I simply meant to say that in an ideal world every performance will be given equal opportunities for consideration. I am very honored to be included in this year’s wonderful group of nominated actors and actresses.”

A group of actors of actresses led by long time academy critic Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett-Smith, have made the decision to publically boycott the awards because of the lack of diversity in the nominees and the Academy’s voters.
