Tell us about your physical preparation for the role?
Michael Shannon: My favorite scene in the movie? That’s hard to pick out. I love all the stuff I did with Russell, that was a lot of fun and I love working with Henry. I don’t know. It’s really hard. I love the whole movie from beginning to end, I don’t really see a scene that I don’t like.
If you could have a superpower, which power would you keep and why?
Michael Shannon: I’d like to be able to teleport. Because then I’d never have to go to the airport again. Teleporting is faster than flying.
What did you admire about Zack Snyder?
Michael Shannon: Everything; he’s just one of the kindest and most imaginative, visionary directors I’ve ever worked with in my life. I think he’s amazing.
And what made you want to be part of this iconic film?
Michael Shannon: Zack sold me on it. I went out and I met with him. He invited me to his home, he told me the whole story of the movie. He’s like Gandhi or something, he’s such a sweet guy.
What’s it like to be a villain?
Michael Shannon: It’s really horrible, because then everybody asks you what’s it like to play a villain.
Tell us about playing Superman’s adopted dad?
Kevin Costner: Well I have to play a character who loves his son, wants to protect him, and those are the things that come out of this movie before he obviously takes center stage.
What was your favorite part about filming this?
Kevin Costner: How big it was. I think my favorite part now is seeing the movie. I mean it’s awesome. If you love comic book movies, this one was made with you in mind, it really was.
