NYC’s 9/11 Mayor Rudy Giuliani slammed Beyonce‘s Super Bowl 50 halftime performance, calling her raved stage show “outrageous” and implied that she used her Super Bowl performance as “a platform to attack police officers.”
“This is football, not Hollywood — and I thought it was really outrageous that [Beyoncé] used it as a platform to attack police officers, who are the people who protect her, and protect us, and keep us alive,” Giuliani said on the FOX News interview on Monday.
Beyonce’s “Formation” performance was an ode to the Black Panther Party For Self Defense, a revolutionary group from the 1960s Civil Rights era that was virtually wiped out by the FBI and its executive director J. Edgar Hoover’s COINTELPRO initiative.
