The City of Cleveland has filed a creditor’s claim against the estate of Tamir Rice, the unarmed 12-year-old kid shot dead on sight by a Cleveland cop and now the lawyers want his parents to pay the EMS bill for the boy’s “dying expenses.”
The city’s attorneys filed the $500 creditor’s claim for the ambulance and paramedics that took away to the 12-year-old’s body after he was shot by a police officer in a public playground in November 2014.
According to the City of Cleveland’s claim, the Rice family is still responsible “for emergency medical services rendered as the decedent’s last dying expense under Ohio Revised Code.” The city is billing Rice’s family $450 for “advance life support” that was never used and $50 for the gas used by the ambulance that drove him to the hospital where he died.
