In the most recent development in the police brutality and civil rights issues in Ferguson, Missouri, it was announced by Unites States Attorney General Loretta Lynch  that the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against the city of Ferguson, Missouri, alleging a pattern or practice of law enforcement conduct that violates the First, Fourth and 14th Amendments of the Constitution and federal civil rights laws.

After the killing of 18 year old unarmed teen Michael Brown, federal investigations were launched into the policing practices of the Ferguson Police Dept., which is said to be the blame of Brown’s death.

Federal officials announced last month they had reached an agreement with Ferguson to help modify the troubled police force and avoid a federal lawsuit, but City Council members on Tuesday night sought to renegotiate the deal because of financial concerns, leaving Justice with no option other than to file a civil rights lawsuit to force change.
