Former contestant on ABC‘s The Bachelor Lex McAllister died yesterday in what is believed to have been a suicide.
The 31 year old reality star was rushed to a hospital in Columbus, Ohio after it was suspected that she had taken an overdose of prescription pills. McAllister was in stable condition when paramedics transferred her to the hospital, but her condition greatly worsened over the past few days. McAllister’s family withdrew her from life support yesterday.
The former reality actress struggled with depression and bipolar disorder.
She appeared on Season 14 of The Bachelor, which aired in early 2010. She was eliminated from the show during the first week.
Ironically, McAllister is the second member of the Season 14 cast to commit suicide. Model Gia Allemand, who was the third runner up on the show, took her own life in 2013.
