Harvey County officials have confirmed that the shooter who has shot over 25 people has been shot and killed by authorities. There have been reports that at least four people are dead.
There has been four to five crime scenes, with possibly 20 people injured. The first incident started about 5 p.m., when a man was shot in the shoulder while driving a truck at 12th and Meridian in Newton, Kansas. Another person was shot in the road at Meridian and Hesston Road and another person was shot in the Excel lawnmower and turfcare parking lot.
Officials said five people are in serious condition and two are in fair condition.
Media outlets indicate that three people have been transported to Wesley Medical Center and four have been transported to Newton Medical Center.
Hesston College was on lock down as a precautionary measure, but that has been lifted.
This would be the 33rd mass shooing in the nation involving at least four causalities.
