Police in Gainesville, Georgia arrested comedian Katt WIlliams on charges of assault and battery this afternoon following an emergency call fro ma store clerk who said that WIlliams punched him following an argument.

Police arrived at a pool supply store around 11:30 a.m. and discovered the 44 year old funnyman outside “lying on the ground with his hands behind his back as though he was ready to go to jail,” according to the police.

Williams, who was shopping in the pool store with two women, allegedly threw a pair of goggles at the clerk then reportedly went behind the counter and socked him.

WHen questioned by the police as to the motive of the original disagreement, WIlliams told the officers to ask the pool store employee.

Williams faces a misdemeanor battery charge and was being held on $5,000 bond.
