Sharissa Turk, the Staten Island native who played the “Blue Fairy” in an anti-substance abuse music video, was found dead in the Woodrow section of Staten Island from a suspected drug overdose. The 25 year old woman was also eight months pregnant.
A man identified as Turk’s boyfriend told police that he found her unconscious in the hallway of a home on Jefferson Blvd. and immediately called 911.
If it is confirmed that Turk did indeed die from a drug overdose, she would be the second person from the anti-drug abuse video to fatally overdose since its debut in 2012.
Turk played a blue pixie in the “White Trash Clan” video about the epidemic of painkiller abuse on Staten Island.
Gerard Kelly, 32, a rapper in the video, died in August of problems linked to “probable acute drug intoxication,” a spokeswoman for the city Medical Examiner’s office said.
