NYC’s Kennedy Center has decided to make Hip-Hop a part of its curriculum for 2016 and who is a better candidate for the center’s first artistic director of Hip Hop than A Tribe Called Quest‘s frontman Q-Tip?
In Tuesday’s press release from the KC,

“Q-Tip will establish a dynamic, new program that will stretch across all disciplines, bringing the historic roots, contemporary expressions, and transformative power of Hip Hop to the [Kennedy] Center and local and national audiences.”

According to the school’s programming schedule for the year, the 45-year-old co-founder of ATCQ is expected to begin curating performances at the Kennedy Center this summer.
