Steeped in history and tradition, Glastonbury is the musical highlight of the year in Britain.

Last year, Kanye West headlined the fabled Saturday night slot to controversial backlash and a whole lot of on stage mistakes (anyone remember the streaker darting across his periphery mid way through) and the self-proclamation of “witnessing the greatest living rock star on the planet.”

Whilst that performance will live long in the memory, it’s time to start getting hyped for Glastonbury 2016 and the array of acts set to perform to rapturous acclaim. The gigantic miniature city-like festival will commence from Wednesday 22nd June to Sunday 26th June at the iconic location of Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

Only recently have the full headliners been announced, with British stalwarts Muse, Coldplay and Adele headlining Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively. Along with those huge names artists Beck, Stormzy, James Blake, Earth, Wind & Fire, Floating Points, Laura Mvula, Fatboy Slim, Kamasi Washington, Gregory Porter and a whole load more are set to grace the numerous stages across 8.5 miles of perimeter.

Admittedly it’s not the strongest lineup of all time, however attendees are expected to gather in force for five days of wild fun and no doubt heavy lashings of bad weather.

Unfortunately, as always, all 135,000 tickets were snapped up in a matter of minutes back in October, however the whole of the proceedings will be televised as usual on the BBC for all to revel in (and get ultimately get sad over).
