Though he retired from the NBA for the second and final time in 2003, Michael Jordan continues to add to his his legacy. Estimated by Forbes to worth $1.1 billion, his Airness owes much of his financial success to his Jordan Brand sneakers and apparel. Today, Forbes released a new list revealing the highest paid retired athletes in the world. MJ tops the list and is accompanied by the likes of David Beckham, Shaquille O’Neal and Magic Johnson.

One of the more glaring observations is that Jordan will actually earn more money in 2016 than any other athlete, retired or active. As astounding as that is, he will earn $30 million more than any other athlete, further widening the margin.

Guess he really could care less about those Jordan-crying face memes.
